Profile
Studio Benjamin, led by Ben Stuart-Smith, is an award-winning London-based design studio recognised for creating environments that nurture wellbeing and connection. Our approach combines analytical rigour with a sensitivity to culture, craftsmanship and context, resulting in places that feel deeply rooted and intrinsically connected to their surroundings.
We specialise in wellness-led design across residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors from spas and retreats to restorative homes and workplaces, where natural materials, light, and atmosphere play central roles. Each project is realised in collaboration with a network of makers and artisans, ensuring a tactile and enduring quality in the spaces we make.
Rooted in sustainability and driven by craftsmanship, we work closely with our clients to create places that are both restorative and refined, supporting individual and collective wellbeing and transforming environments into places of comfort, balance, and beauty.
Ben is also director of community interest company Okra which is dedicated to architecture for community benefit. The Apple house, featured within, was designed by Ben as part of Okra and has been widely published. The project is currently short-listed for the international 2025 Dezeen awards under the Leisure and Wellness category. The building has been selected from over 4,300 entries from 89 countries and is one of 6 architecture projects to be short-listed for an award within its category.
